Rick Schwartz Was Right, Eric Borgos Published A Blog Entry That You Must Read
Very rarely do you get a realistic view into what is really going on with the average domain investor. Most of us are busy paying attention to all of the great news out there. We tend to forget that the high-end sales are few and far between. The average domainer isn’t making the type of money they can actually survive on. If you are a full time domain investor and you are struggling to make ends meet then you need to reasses your business and really ask yourself if you are running a business.
In Eric Borgos’s latest blog entry “2012 – A Year of Failures” he discusses what didn’t work for him and what he plans on doing about it. As Rick Schwartz said this is a must read. I’ve visited Eric’s blog in the past, but today made me a reader of it. Eric’s latest blog entry is filled with gut wrenching honesty. As a domainer he holds one amazing portfolio, but this goes to show that it’s not just about owning premium domain names. There is a lot more to being a domain investor, then picking the best fruit off of a tree.
Eric went knee deep into a development strategy which netted negative results. He spent a great deal of time and money trying to develop a number of sites in hopes of monetizing them. Once the sites were up and running they not only provided trickle traffic, but the earnings potential reflected this. His honesty and inside view into his development strategy is something we can all learn a little from. Eric burned through real money and tested enough to show all of us what not to do. Use Eric’s experience as a way to help you make 2013 a great year.
Eric, I want to personally thank you for sharing your experiences with us. You are a true asset to the domaining community. If you haven’t read the blog entry that I am referring to, then please do so now.

Thanks for the kind words. One thing I have found over my 17 years doing business online is that people make money doing all sorts of things, and just because I tried something and did not make money does not mean somebody else can’t do the same thing and get rich from it. But, it does help to learn from other peoples’ mistakes and successes, so that is why I try to post as much detailed info as possible in my blog.
No problem Eric, we can all learn from one another’s experiences. I’ll be an avid visitor of your blog in 2013. Thanks for breaking everything down into terms we can all learn and benefit from.
